What changes and what does not
Question types, timing and band scoring stay the same. What changes is how you answer: with mouse and keyboard in Reading and Listening, typing in Writing, and a timer on screen. Speaking is still a conversation with an examiner.
Get used to reading on screen
Without practice reading long passages on screen, scrolling and keeping passage and questions in view together, time slips away. Read on screen for a little every day and work with passage and questions side by side.
Writing by typing
Build fast, accurate typing. Check your word count and reread for spelling and grammar. You can edit without crossing out, so use the last minutes to do it.
Practise in the computer exam room
Premium Plus includes the IELTS Prep BD computer exam room: passage and questions side by side, a timer, flagging, and Practice and Exam modes. It is independent practice; it is not identical to the official interface and its results are not official.
Common questions
Is the computer test harder?
The standard is the same. How hard it feels depends on how used you are to working on screen.
Is Speaking done on the computer?
No. Speaking is still a conversation with an examiner.
