Choose a specific weakness
Choose one issue from your feedback rather than rewriting everything at once. Check task coverage, the progression of ideas, vocabulary and grammar separately. The lesson sample below explains why these are different diagnostic areas.
Turn feedback into your own revision
Write your own answer first. Understand one feedback point and revise that part yourself. Where an example rewrite is shown, compare the change with your version instead of simply copying it. Carry the improvement into another task.
Understand the feedback
AI estimates support practice; they are not official examiner results. Academic Task 1 material and Task 2 practice serve different tasks. Check Free feedback allowances in the app; Premium adds Unlimited AI feedback for normal individual study.

Know the Writing Criteria
Name the four Writing criteria and identify whether a weakness is in task response, organisation, vocabulary or grammar.
Four criteria, four jobs
Task 2 uses Task Response; Task 1 uses Task Achievement. Both also assess Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range and Accuracy.
Task Response / Achievement → Did I complete the task?
Coherence and Cohesion → Is the response organised and connected?
Lexical Resource → Is the vocabulary precise and appropriate?
Grammatical Range and Accuracy → Are structures varied and controlled?
Think of four separate diagnostic boxes.
Organisation and connection
Coherence and Cohesion is about clear progression, sensible paragraphing and connections between ideas. A relevant point can still be hard to follow if it is placed badly.
Public buses reduce traffic. Another issue is university fees. They can also lower air pollution.
Public buses can reduce traffic. With fewer private cars on the road, cities may also produce less air pollution.
The better version keeps one connected idea together.
Try it yourself
